CARSON, Calif. – The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California shared preliminary information on Nov. 5 about the discovery of human skeletal remains inside an offline pipeline that is part of its Sepulveda Feeder in Culver City. Metropolitan has affirmed that there are no water quality or health concerns associated with the discovery; and that it is in compliance with all drinking water regulations.
An active investigation, led by the Culver City Police Department, is in progress; and today, Nov. 9, the police department issued its first public statement.
In addition, Metropolitan posted a statement on Nov. 9 about the tragic discovery and reiterates that there are no risks to the safety of Metropolitan’s drinking water supplies or public health. Metropolitan also affirms its cooperation with the police department. Read Metropolitan’s statement.
