West Basin Municipal Water District’s Finance and Administration Department received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This is the seventh time the District was honored to earn this distinction.
The certificate recognizes West Basin for its annual comprehensive financial report for the last fiscal year. This marks the second year in a row West Basin has earned this award, and the fourth time in the past five years.
The GFOA, founded in 1906, represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada, and seeks to advance excellence in public finance. The Certificate of Achievement (COA) was established in 1945 to encourage state and local government agencies to prepare annual comprehensive financial reports that “evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal.”
