As California faces increasing water supply challenges and growing demands on aging infrastructure, community members are invited to attend Water for Tomorrow: A Community Conversation — a pair of free events for the public to hear from water industry leaders about the evolving water landscape, innovative projects and infrastructure, and the future of long-term water supplies.
This event is hosted by West Basin Municipal Water District with invited guest speakers from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts, Water Replenishment District, and other participating agencies including Golden State Water Company, the City of Inglewood, the City of Carson, and California Water Service.
Both events will feature a panel of industry expert speakers with interactive discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities shaping southern California’s water reliability. Topics of interest will include the status of state and local water supplies, the vision for Pure Water Southern California and Pure Water Los Angeles (future advanced recycled water purification programs), and available water efficiency and education programs to empower the public to conserve water and reduce their water bill.
These events are designed to encourage community engagement and provide people with a greater understanding of where their water comes from, how it is managed and the investments being made to protect the region’s future.
The two events are:
